Automated Trading with MetaTrader 4

The MetaTrader 4 terminal environment consists of the following parts to execute and manage automated trading:

MetaTrader 4 terminal

Integrated seamlessly with our No Dealing Desk execution for automated trading programs.

MetaQuotes Language 4 (MQL4)

The MetaQuotes programming language for writing trading strategies.

MetaEditor

For creating, editing, and compiling program source codes written in MQL4.

Strategy Tester

For testing and optimizing Expert Advisors.

Expert Advisors (EA) allow for automated trading on the MetaTrader 4 trading platform. EA’s are built on the MQL programming language. The MLQ computer language was created to assist automated trading and includes pre programmed classes and functions to help users quickly create and apply new trading strategies. The MT4 platform provided by EFXglobal.com includes the MetaEditor needed for you to create automated trading scripts. MetaEditor is a unique compiler created specifically for the MQL programming language and can be found at the top of the MT4 trading platform.

For users that haven’t learned the MQL programming language or aren’t interested in creating their own Expert Advisor strategy, the MLQ programmers at EFXglobal.com are ready to assist you in creating Expert Advisors based upon your rules that help you manage your trading or alter your existing code.

On the MetaQuotes (MLQ5) website link below, you can find simple EAs and complex trading robots for MT4 that can fully automate analysis and trading processes.

Once an EA is installed in your MT4 and your navigator window opened, simply open a chart with the desired trading instrument and time frame, click on the EA and drag it into the chart and click OK on the popup window

Your EA is now ready to operate and under tools ⇒ options in the MT4 main tab. Simply click on Expert Advisors and check the boxes for “Enable Expert Advisors” and “Allow live trading”. The EA will now be visibly running in your chart. Please note: If you are also using DLLs you may need to apply additional steps to run the EA. In this case, seek help from the creator of the EA or consult the Meta Editor Help Files. Before you operate your EA with real funds, It is recommended to test and optimize Expert Advisors using the Strategy tester.

Running an EA is simple and EFXglobal.com also offers low latency VPS hosting in Equinix LD4 for faster 24/5 trading with more accurate order execution.
